Freedom of Information Act 1997 (Miscellaneous Revocations) Regulations 2003

I, Charlie McCreevy, Minister for Finance, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the Freedom of Information Act 1997 ( No. 13 of 1997 ), hereby make the following regulations with respect to which, pursuant to subsection (3) of that section, a draft has been laid before each House of the Oireachtas and a resolution approving of the draft has been passed by each such House:

1.         These Regulations may be cited as the Freedom of Information Act 1997 (Miscellaneous Revocations) Regulations 2003.

2.         The following Regulations are revoked:

 (a)        S.I. No. 516 of 1998 ),

 (b)        S.I. No. 517 of 1998 ), and

 (c)        S.I. No. 521 of 1998 ).

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Instrument and does not purport to be a legal interpretation.)

These Regulations revoke the following Regulations

i.     S.I. No. 516 of 1998 ),

ii.    S.I. No. 517 of 1998 )

iii.    S.I. No. 521 of 1998 ).

This revocation arises because the provisions of these three Regulations have been incorporated into Sections 6 and 28 of the Freedom of Information Act 1997 thereby rendering the Regulations superfluous and requiring their revocation.
