The Minister for Health and Children in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by Section 3 of the Health (Corporate Bodies) Act, 1961 as amended, as adapted by the Health (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister Order, 1997) ( S.I. No. 308 of 1997 ) hereby orders as follows: 1. This Order may be cited as the Blood Transfusion Service Board (Establishment) Order, 1965 (Amendment) Order, 2003. 2. Article 4 of the Blood Transfusion Service Board (Establishment) Order, 1965 ( S.I. No. 78 of 1965 ) as amended by the Blood Transfusion Service Board |

(Establishment)(Amendment) Order, 1988 ( S.I. No. 209 of 1988 ) and further amended by the Blood Transfusion Service Board (Establishment) (Amendment) Order, 2000 ( S.I. No. 22 of 2000 ) is hereby amended by the addition thereto of the following paragraph: |

“(1) to make available clotting factor concentrates which do not contain blood or blood products, and other biological medicinal agents including recombinant protein preparations, used for the treatment of coagulation disorders and other congenital or acquired disorders that are characterized by diminished levels of, or dysfunctional forms of, plasma proteins”. |
