ELECTORAL ACT 1997 (SECTION 3) ORDER 2004.

The Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government, in exercise of the power conferred on him by section 3 of the Electoral Act 1997 ( No. 25 of 1997 ), hereby makes the following Order:

1. This Order may be cited as the Electoral Act 1997 (Section 3) Order 2004.

2. The aggregate of election expenses which may be incurred by or on behalf of a candidate in a European Parliament election constituency in connection with his or her candidature at the European election shall not exceed €230,000.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

(This note is not part of the Instrument and does not purport to be a legal interpretation.)

This Order provides for the setting of a limit of €230,000 for the aggregate election expenses for a candidate in any European Parliament constituency.
