REGISTRATION OF BIRTHS AND DEATHS (IRELAND) ACT, 1863 (SECTION 17 AND SECTION 18) (DUBLIN, GALWAY, MAYO, ROSCOMMON AND CORK) ORDER, 2004.

REGISTRATION OF BIRTHS AND DEATHS (IRELAND) ACT, 1863 (SECTION 17 AND SECTION 18) (DUBLIN, GALWAY, MAYO, ROSCOMMON AND CORK) ORDER, 2004.

AN tARD-CHLÁRAITHEOIR, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by Section 17 and Section 18 of the Registration of Births and Deaths (Ireland) Act, 1863, hereby orders as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Registration of Births and Deaths (Ireland) Act, 1863 (Section 17 and Section 18) (Dublin, Galway, Mayo and Roscommon) Order, 2004.

2. The existing Registrars’ Districts of Dublin North Central, Dublin North East, Fingal, Dublin North West, Dublin West, Dublin South Central, Dublin South City No. 6, Rathmines No. 1, Donnybrook, Blackrock, Rathmines No 2, Terenure, Rathfarnham, Rathdown West and Dun Laoghaire shall be amalgamated and shall together form one Registrar's District to be known as the Registrar's District of Dublin.

3. The existing Registrars’ Districts of Galway and Clonbur shall be amalgamated and shall together form one Registrars District to be known as the Registrar's District of Galway.

4. The existing Registrars’ Districts of Mayo, Cong and Ballinrobe shall be amalgamated and shall together form one Registrars District to be known as the Registrar's District of Mayo.

5. The existing Registrars’ District of Roscommon will be divided and new Registrars’ Districts of Boyle No. 1 and Roscommon will be formed to be known as the Registrar's District of Boyle No. 1 and the Registrar's District of Roscommon.

6. The existing Registrars’ Districts of Skibbereen and Drimoleague shall be amalgamated and shall together form one Registrar's District to be known as the Registrar's District of Skibbereen.

7. This Order shall come into operation on the 3rd day of August 2004.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

(This note is not part of the Instrument and does not purport to be a legal interpretation.)

The effect of this Order is to amalgamate certain Registrars’ Districts in the functional area of the Eastern Regional Health Authority, the Western Health Board and the Southern Health Board, so as to reduce the number of Districts in the areas.

This Order will also effect the creation of a new Registrars’ District of Boyle No. 1, in the Western Health Board.
