EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)


These Regulations amend the Flags Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2000 (the principal Regulations). They provide that the Union Flag is no longer to be flown on the birthday of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother and The Princess Margaret. They also provide that the Union Flag is to be flown in accordance with the principal Regulations on the 1st, 3rd and 4th June 2002 in Official Celebration of Her Majesty's Golden Jubilee.
