Seed Potatoes (Tuber and Label Fees) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2004

	Made	4th May 2004
	Coming into operation	1st September 2004

The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development[1], in exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 1 of the Seeds Act (Northern Ireland) 1965[2] and of every other power enabling it in that behalf, after consultation with representatives of such interests as appear to it to be concerned, hereby makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Seed Potatoes (Tuber and Label Fees) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2004 and shall come into operation on 1st September 2004.

Amendment of the Seed Potatoes (Tuber and Label Fees) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1982
2. For the Schedule to the Seed Potatoes (Tuber and Label Fees) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1982[3] there shall be substituted -

1. Fee for the inspection of seed potato tubers prior to their being sealed under regulation 14(2) of the Seed Potatoes Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2001[4]	3·75 per tonne or part of a tonne
2. Fee for the provision of official labels whether or not details have been printed thereon by the Department	0·48 per 20"

Revocation
3. The Seed Potatoes (Tuber and Labels Fees) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2003[5] are hereby revoked.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations.)

These Regulations revoke and replace the Seed Potatoes (Tuber and Label Fees) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2003.

The Regulations increase the fee payable for the inspection of seed potatoes from Ј3·55 per tonne or part of a tonne to Ј3·75 per tonne or part of a tonne.

The fee payable for the provision of official labels, whether or not the details have been printed thereon by the Department, has increased from Ј0·46 per 20 labels to Ј0·48 per 20 labels.
