EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Regulations)
These Regulations amend the Education (Induction Arrangements for School Teachers) (England) Regulations 1999 (S.I. 1999/1065) by allowing graduate teachers and registered teachers teaching at a special measures school to remain at that school for the purposes of induction.
The Regulations also exempt overseas trained teachers with two years' teaching experience who are assessed as meeting the induction standards from the requirement to serve an induction period after qualifying as a teacher via the graduate teacher programme or the registered teacher programme.
