CRIMINAL LAW, ENGLAND AND WALES

The Vehicles (Crime) Act 2001 (Commencement No. 1) Order 2001

  Made 23rd September 2001 

In exercise of the power conferred upon him by section 44 of the Vehicles (Crime) Act 2001[1], the Secretary of State hereby makes the following Order:

     1. This Order may be cited as the Vehicle (Crime) Act 2001 (Commencement No. 1) Order 2001.

    
2. Section 37 of the Vehicles (Crime) Act 2001 (taking a conveyance without authority: extension of prosecution time-limits) shall come into force on 1st October 2001.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)


This Order brings into force on 1st October 2001 section 37 of the Vehicles (Crime) Act 2001 which extends the time-limits in which the prosecution can commence proceedings for an offence of taking a conveyance without authority.
