DISABLED PERSONS

The Public Service Vehicles Accessibility (Amendment) Regulations 2004

  Coming into force 30th August 2004 

The Secretary of State for Transport, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 45(1) and 67 of the Disability Discrimination Act 1995[1], and after consultation with such representative organisations as he thinks fit in accordance with section 45(4) of that Act, hereby makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement
     1. These Regulations may be cited as the Public Service Vehicles Accessibility (Amendment) Regulations 2004 and shall come into force on 30th August 2004.

Increases in fees
    
2.  - (1) The Public Service Vehicles Accessibility Regulations 2000[2] shall be amended as follows.

    (2) In the regulations specified in column (1) of the Table below for the amounts specified in column (2) there shall be substituted the amounts specified in column (3).

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)


These Regulations amend the Public Service Vehicles Accessibility Regulations 2000 ("the 2000 Regulations"). The 2000 Regulations apply to single-deck and double-deck buses, and to single-deck and double-deck coaches, where such vehicles are used to provide local and scheduled services and have a capacity of more than twenty-two passengers.

The fees for accessibility certificates are specified in regulation 7 of the 2000 Regulations. Regulation 2 amends those fees as follows -

A copy has been placed in the library of each House of Parliament.
